Another Amazing Graduation Is Complete!
Posted on September 14, 2019
Over 200 people in attendance. Over 100 people graduating. One phenomenal day.
Saturday 1st June was the day that our 17th Graduation Ceremony took place. The day, which was brilliantly hosted and led by three of our Diamonds, was filled with some incredible talks, entertainment and other fun-filled activities.
The morning was kicked off with a fun quiz to test the attendee’s knowledge of the 100 Black Men of London. Shortly after, we had guest speeches to inspire our audience. The first speech was with the brilliant Michael Tabirade who is an author and business and mindset coach. His message on the importance of building habits and routines to support your progressive success was incredibly valuable. Our second speaker was the great Reggie Nelson, known for literally knocking down doors to find out how he can be successful, shared his unique story of how he managed to find himself a successful mentor that has helped him progress in his education and career.
This was all followed by Spoken Word Poetry from some of our young people and parents that wanted to share the impact the 100 Black Men of London has had on their lives. Truly tear-jerking.
After a few rounds of acknowledging the graduates and distributing their certificates, we had lunch to allow everyone to take a break, recharge and celebrate with one another.
The return from lunch saw a brilliant video be played that captured the true essence, and shared the story of what has happened within the 100 in the last year of delivery. This was followed by a few more rounds of graduate acknowledgement across our different programmes and the exciting announcements of our award winners. The categories for awards included Diamond of the Year and Most Improved Diamond of the Year for the different programmes, as well as our Parent of the Year and Mentor of the Year.
This was followed by our final guest speech from the brilliant UK music artist, and actor, Ghetts. Him coming down and sharing the learning he has had from his long career in music was a great insight for all of the Diamonds, Families and Guests in attendance.
Overall, we are proud of the fact that all of our return attendees were happy to share that this was the best graduation we have had and they are looking for the next year of CMP… which will be bigger and better so watch this space!
